Overview

The ResMed AirFit F30 is a full face CPAP mask built around the UltraCompact cushion, which seals below the nose instead of across it. Unlike traditional full face masks that span the nasal bridge, the F30 covers only the mouth and nostrils for a far smaller footprint on your face.

That minimal-contact design keeps the bridge of your nose, your cheeks, and your field of view completely clear all night. You can wear glasses, read, or watch television with the mask on, and there is no bony ridge for the cushion to press against overnight.

Key Features:

  • UltraCompact Cushion: Sits under the nose and covers only the mouth and nostrils, so nothing rests on the nasal bridge.
  • Open Field of View: Leaves your line of sight clear, so you can read or wear glasses right up until you fall asleep.
  • QuietAir Diffuser Elbow: Spreads exhaled air gently away from you and your bed partner instead of venting it as a directed jet.
  • Magnetic Headgear Clips: The lower straps snap into the frame on their own, so your fit stays where you set it.
  • Plush Fabric Headgear: Rolled-edge straps are meant to be worn loosely, letting the cushion adapt without excess pressure on your face.
  • Lightweight Build: One of the lightest full face masks ResMed makes, so there is less of it to notice overnight.

The AirFit F30 is ideal for patients who breathe through their mouth, feel closed in by larger full face masks, or want to keep their glasses on at night. It is especially beneficial for anyone who has developed pressure marks across the nasal bridge.

How It Works

How the UltraCompact cushion seals

The cushion seals below the nose rather than around it. It covers the mouth and the underside of the nostrils, and makes no contact with the nasal bridge, the cheeks, or the sides of the nose.

That removes the two contact points behind most full face mask complaints: pressure marks on the bony ridge of the nose, and the closed-in feeling of a cushion sitting across your line of sight.

Why the headgear is meant to be worn loose

The rolled-edge fabric straps are designed to be worn loosely so the UltraCompact cushion can adapt to your facial contours rather than being clamped against them.

Over-tightening works against a minimal-contact cushion: it deforms the seal instead of improving it. If the mask leaks, reseat the cushion before adding strap tension.

QuietAir venting and the elbow

The QuietAir elbow disperses exhaled air across a wide vent area rather than through a directed jet, which lowers both the noise and the draft reaching a bed partner.

Squeeze tabs release the elbow with one hand, and it rotates a full turn on an independent tube swivel, so hose movement is absorbed at the connection instead of being passed into the cushion seal.

Sizing and fit

The AirFit F30 cushion comes in two sizes, Small and Medium. ResMed publishes a printable fitting template: print it at 100% scale, cut it out, and hold it under your nose in front of a mirror to confirm which cushion matches.

All AirFit F30 masks ship with Standard headgear.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirFit F30 Full Face Mask

Light enough to forget

The frame is built from ultra-light materials, so a full face mask that covers both your nose and mouth still sits lightly on you. Less weight also means less reason to overtighten the headgear to hold it steady.

Your eyeline stays clear

Because the cushion sits below your nose rather than across the bridge, nothing rises into your field of view. For a full face mask that is unusual, and it is the main reason people who feel closed in choose this shape.

Two sizes, one frame

Small and Medium cushions both fit the same frame, so moving between them leaves the rest of the mask untouched. If your first choice seals everywhere except one spot, the other size is worth trying before you give up on it.

Open view

The cushion sits below your nose instead of across the bridge, so your line of sight stays clear for reading or glasses.

Ultra-light frame

Advanced ultra-light materials keep the mask feeling light on your face, so you are less aware of wearing it at all.

QuietAir diffuser elbow

Spreads your exhaled air out gently and quietly, so the person next to you is not woken by a jet of air.

Magnetic headgear clips

The lower straps snap into the frame on their own, so you are not re-adjusting your fit every night.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which cushion size I need?

The AirFit F30 comes in Small and Medium, and the size is set by your mouth and nostrils, not by the size of your head. Most people are not the size they expect. If you are unsure, call us and we will walk you through it.

Will it leave red marks on my nose?

The F30 does not touch the bridge of your nose at all, so the red marks that come from that contact point are not a problem here. It still rests on your upper lip and chin, so a cushion that is too tight can mark there instead.

How do I clean the AirFit F30?

Wash the cushion daily in warm water with a mild soap and let it air-dry out of direct sunlight. Wash the headgear and frame once a week. Do not use bleach, alcohol or scented soaps on any part of it.

Will it work with my machine?

Yes. The AirFit F30 uses a standard CPAP hose connection and works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, not just ResMed.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes, CPAP masks are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
