What is a nasal pillow mask?

Two soft silicone cushions that seal at the opening of each nostril rather than covering your nose. It's the smallest mask you can wear and still get the full benefit of your therapy.

Who do nasal pillows work best for?

People who feel closed in by a larger mask, who wear glasses or read in bed, who sleep on their side, or who have a beard. There's no seal across your face, so facial hair doesn't cause leaks.

Do nasal pillows cause sore nostrils?

They shouldn't. Soreness almost always means the pillows are the wrong size or the headgear is too tight. The pillows should rest against your nostrils, not press into them. If you're pulling the straps tight to stop a leak, you likely need a different size, not more tension.

Can I use nasal pillows at a high pressure?

You can, but air delivered straight into your nostrils feels more direct as pressure climbs. Above roughly 15 cmH2O many people move to a nasal mask, which spreads the same pressure across a bigger surface. Some do fine on pillows at any setting.

How do I get the size right?

Nostril size and shape vary more than most people expect, and it has nothing to do with how big your nose is. Several of our packs include small, medium, and large cushions so you can find yours without guessing.

Do I need a prescription, and what if the mask isn't right?

A prescription is required, but it won't hold up checkout: order now, upload it after, and we'll hold the order until it's on file. If the mask doesn't work out, you have 30 nights to exchange it for store credit, opened or not.
