The ResMed AirFit P10 For Her Nasal Pillow Mask seals at the entrance of your nostrils rather than covering your nose. Two soft cushions, a clear frame and a single strap behind your head are the whole of it. Nothing sits across your face.

Why the size range shifts down

Nostril width does not track height or build, and a pillow too wide for the opening splays it rather than sealing against it. A set that starts smaller gives a genuine choice to people the standard range leaves at its bottom end.

That is the whole difference in the box. Frame, vent and headgear are identical to the standard model, so anything written about that mask applies here except which three pillows arrive.

What the two walls each do

The pillow is molded from two layers. The thin outer layer deforms against skin, and the thicker inner layer resists deforming, which is what stops the cone flattening when therapy pressure rises.

One layer alone has to compromise. Soft enough for comfort collapses under pressure, firm enough to hold shape presses into the nostril. Two layers let each property live somewhere different.

Where the noise goes

A conventional vent is a ring of holes, and a small opening with air behind it makes a jet and a hiss. Mesh replaces one opening with thousands, so the same volume leaves at a fraction of the speed.

Speed is what you hear. The measured figure is 21.4 decibels, below the level of a whisper, which is why this mask is the one usually suggested for people who share a bed.

Adjusting a headgear with no clips

Older split-strap headgear had nothing to set. It fitted or it did not, and once the elastic had loosened the only remedy was a fresh one.

This version keeps the pull-on simplicity and adds an adjuster to one band. The strap can be drawn in as it ages, which turns a stretched headgear into a small adjustment rather than a replacement part.
