Overview

Four pillow sizes fit the ResMed AirFit P10 and the AirFit P10 for Her, running all the way from Extra Small up to Large. They clip into the frame on ResMed's color coded key system, which marks both size and which side is which.

The two masks are mechanically the same and differ only in the color of their headgear, so a single set of four sizes covers both. What this cushion does not fit is the AirMini version, which ResMed builds as an entirely separate mask of its own.

Key Features:

  • Not for AirMini: ResMed states that a standard AirFit P10 is not compatible with the AirMini, which uses its own mask.
  • Different air path: The AirMini version routes air a shorter way, holding far less of it inside the mask.
  • Free of phthalates: ResMed records the mask system as containing no PVC, DEHP or phthalates, and no natural rubber latex.
  • Bilevel caution: ResMed notes tidal volume readings may be less accurate in bilevel modes at higher pressure support.
  • Mask setting: On an S9 choose Pillows, and on other devices choose SWIFT where offered, otherwise MIRAGE.
  • Pack contents: One pair of pillows arrives in a single size, without a frame or headgear alongside them.

Anyone on a P10 or on the For Her version will replace this part long before anything else on the mask needs any attention. Nothing else on the assembly touches skin directly, and nothing else softens steadily under ordinary nightly use.

Note: The AirFit P10 for AirMini is a different mask with its own cushions, and these do not fit it. Check whether your machine is an AirMini before ordering.

How It Works

Why the AirMini version is different

The names are close enough to cause real returns. ResMed sells a P10 built specifically for the AirMini, and says in its own words that a standard P10 is not compatible with that machine, which rules out simply carrying your existing cushions across.

The difference is structural rather than cosmetic. The AirMini variant has no elbow, swivel or short tube, connecting straight to the device instead, and it holds a fraction of the air this mask does.

How the key clips work

Each pillow carries two clips of unequal length. The shorter one belongs in the upper slot on the frame and the longer one in the lower slot, so the cushion can only be fitted one way round once you notice which is which.

ResMed colors those clips by size, and the coloring also marks left from right. It means a glance tells you both which size you are holding and whether it is oriented correctly, without hunting for a molded letter in poor light.

Oils, washing and the monthly figure

ResMed asks for a daily wash in warm water, around 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with a mild soap, then a rinse in drinking quality water and air drying away from direct sun. It also asks specifically that facial oils come off after every use.

That instruction is the one that decides how long a set lasts. Oils soften the sealing surface steadily, so a pillow can stop holding pressure while still looking perfectly intact, which is why the published guideline is a month rather than a symptom.

What's Included

Here's everything that comes in the box.

  • One pair of AirFit P10 pillows, Extra Small through Large

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirFit P10 Nasal Pillows Cushion

Both P10s, one part

The AirFit P10 and the P10 for Her are mechanically the same mask and differ only in the color of their headgear. One set of four sizes therefore covers either, with no separate For Her pillow to track down.

Clips show size and side

ResMed colors the key clips by size and marks left from right on them, and the short clip only fits the top slot. Fitting it wrong takes deliberate effort, and identifying a spare takes a glance.

Almost every ResMed machine

ResMed validates this mask across the AirSense 10 and 11, the whole AirCurve range, the S9 family, the VPAP models, the Lumis Tx and the Stellar. It is the broadest device list of any cushion here.

Four sizes

Extra Small through Large, each one carrying its own ResMed part number for reordering.

Barely audible

The published sound level comes in under a whisper, which is as quiet as ResMed's range gets.

Oils come off

ResMed asks that facial oils are removed after each use, since they are what soften the seal.

Two exclusions

ResMed rules this mask out for the AutoSet CS 2 and the VPAP Adapt SV devices in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these work with an AirMini?

No. ResMed states that a standard AirFit P10 is not compatible with the AirMini, which uses a separate mask built for it. These pillows fit the AirFit P10 and the AirFit P10 for Her.

Is the For Her pillow different?

No, it is the same part. ResMed builds the P10 and the P10 for Her identically apart from headgear color, so these four sizes cover either mask.

How do I keep the seal working?

Wash the pillows daily in warm water at around 86 degrees Fahrenheit with mild soap, and take the facial oils off after each use. Rinse with drinking quality water and air dry them away from direct sunlight.

How often do the pillows need changing?

ResMed's own guideline is once a month. Change them sooner if the pillow hardens or the seal starts breaking overnight, because facial oils soften it long before it looks damaged.

Does it work on a bilevel machine?

Yes, across the AirCurve range. ResMed does add one caution for this mask, that tidal volume and minute ventilation readings may be less accurate in bilevel modes, particularly at higher pressure support.
