Overview
The Amara View from Philips is a full face mask with almost nothing in front of your face. The cushion seals under your nose and around your mouth, and the frame arms run out to the sides rather than up across the nasal bridge.
One frame size takes all three cushions, so the only size decision you have to make is the cushion itself. Magnetic clips pull the lower straps into place, and a quick-release elbow lets you disconnect from the hose without touching the headgear at all.
Key Features:
- Minimal Contact Design: Very little of the mask meets your skin, and none of it sits between your eyes.
- Under-the-Nose Cushion: Seals below the nostrils and over the mouth, keeping pressure off the bridge where marks usually form.
- One Frame, Three Cushions: A single modular frame accepts Small, Medium and Large cushions, so resizing never means replacing the frame.
- Magnetic Headgear Clips: Magnets guide the lower straps into the frame, so the mask can be fitted and removed one-handed.
- Quick Release Elbow: A squeeze separates the mask from the hose, leaving the headgear set exactly where you adjusted it.
- Sized by Nose Length: Cushion choice follows how far your nose extends, not how wide it is across the base.
The Amara View suits patients who need mouth coverage but cannot wear a conventional full face mask, whether because of bridge soreness or because a bulky frame feels closed in. It is also the choice for anyone who reads or watches television in bed.
How It Works
How so little can hold a seal
A traditional full face mask spreads its load over a large perimeter: forehead, bridge, cheeks and chin. More contact is usually read as more security, and it is also what produces the marks patients complain about.
This design inverts that. The sealing surface is short and sits entirely below the nostrils, so the same therapy pressure is held by a much smaller footprint and the skin above it is never loaded at all.
Why nose length is the measurement
Most nasal cushions are chosen by the width of the nose, because a cushion wrapping around it has to span that distance. This one wraps around nothing.
It seals across the base instead, so what matters is how far the nose projects. A short nose in a large cushion leaks upward and a long nose in a small one is pushed out of position, which is why measuring width sends people wrong here.
Magnets, and when they are a problem
The clips carry magnets so the straps find their seats without being threaded, which is worth most at three in the morning. It is a real convenience and worth understanding before ordering.
Philips advises keeping magnetic components clear of implanted devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators and certain neurostimulators and shunts. The advice covers anyone sleeping beside you as well, and a non-magnetic clip version exists for exactly this reason.
What to expect from the cushion
The cushion is the consumable here and everything else outlives it. What ends one is facial oil, which works into the silicone until the sealing lip stops springing back and begins leaking under pressure.
Wash it daily in warm water with a mild soap, dry it out of direct sunlight, and give the headgear a weekly wash laid flat. Replace it when it feels tacky or needs more tension than it used to, rather than on a calendar.

Everything you need to know about the Philips Amara View Full Face Mask
No frame across your face
Most full face masks hang a rigid shell from your nose bridge down to your chin. The Amara View has no frame in front of the face at all: the cushion itself is the front of the mask, and the arms run out to the sides.
Getting up at night
The elbow releases from the frame with a squeeze, so you can disconnect and walk away without loosening the headgear. Everything you set stays set, and the mask goes back on at the same tension you left it.
Sized by nose length
Cushion size here follows the length of your nose rather than its width, which is the opposite of how most nasal masks are sized. Measuring the wrong dimension is the usual reason a first Amara View cushion does not seal.

Under nose cushion
The cushion seals beneath your nose and around your mouth, so nothing rests on the bridge where masks leave marks.
Open sight line
Nothing sits between your eyes and the room, so you can read or watch television with the mask already on.
Magnetic clips
Magnets draw the lower straps into the frame, so the mask goes on and comes off with one hand.
One modular frame
A single frame size takes all three cushions, so changing cushion size never means buying another frame.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which cushion size?
Amara View cushions are sized by the length of your nose, not its width, which catches out people who have worn other masks. The Fit Pack ships all three sizes in one box if you would rather compare them on your face.
Does the cushion go inside my nostrils?
No. The Amara View seals under your nose and around your mouth rather than entering the nostrils. It is a full face mask, so it covers your mouth as well.
Are the magnetic clips a problem?
The headgear clips contain magnets, and Philips advises keeping them away from implanted medical devices such as pacemakers and certain neurostimulators. If that applies to you or anyone sharing your bed, ask us about the non-magnetic clip option.
Will it work with my machine?
Yes. The Amara View uses a standard CPAP hose connection and works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, not just Philips models.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, CPAP masks are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
