Overview

The AirFit N20 cushion is the silicone part of ResMed's N20 nasal mask that actually touches your face. A replacement restores the easy, leak-free comfort of your first night, and the rest of the mask stays in service.

Pick Small, Medium or Large in line with what you wear today. The cushion pushes straight into your existing frame while the headgear and elbow stay untouched, and For Her wearers will find their own option above.

Key Features:

  • Moves as you move: Shaped loops in the InfinitySeal membrane flex with you, so rolling from your back onto your side leaves the seal intact.
  • Light on the face: A compact cushion over the nose keeps the mask small and light, leaving your mouth free and your view open for reading.
  • Quiet as new: Breath leaves through tiny holes in the elbow, not the cushion, so swapping cushions never changes how quiet the N20 runs.
  • Latex free: No natural rubber latex goes into the N20, as ResMed confirms in the user guide written for this mask.
  • Room to breathe: Your mouth stays uncovered, so you can talk, sip some water or read in bed with the mask already on.

It suits AirFit N20 wearers whose cushion has started to leak, leave red marks or feel slippery, or who are simply due a fresh one. It is also the easy way to try a new size if your current one has never sealed quite right.

Note: Before ordering, look for the N20 name on your frame. Only N20 frames, AirFit or AirTouch, standard or For Her, accept this cushion.

How It Works

Finding your size

First time on the N20? Print ResMed's fitting template without any scaling, then measure its ruler to be sure the sheet came out true. Hold the cutout over your nose and see which outline matches without covering your nostrils.

Sizes do not carry over from one mask model to another, so measure again whenever you change masks. A mirror helps here, so you can see exactly where each outline sits against your nostrils.

Silicone or memory foam

ResMed builds the N20 two ways around a single frame. The AirFit version wears this silicone cushion, the AirTouch version a memory foam one, and the two cushions swap freely.

Silicone suits anyone who likes a daily wash, since foam is never soaked. Foam has a softer, plusher feel against the nose, which makes it worth a try if silicone has never quite agreed with you.

Changing the cushion

Press the buttons on the elbow to take it off, then hold the frame and pull the old cushion away. The new cushion only goes in one way, so push it into the frame until it sits flat all round.

Clip the elbow back on and put the mask on by placing it over your nose before pulling the headgear over your head. That keeps the new membrane from folding on the first night.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirFit N20 Nasal Cushion

Seals with loose straps

New silicone seals with far less effort than a cushion that has worn soft. The top straps do the sealing and the lower straps simply hold the cushion steady, so you can keep everything comfortably loose and wake without strap marks.

Made for the N20 only

This cushion fits the AirFit N20, the N20 For Her and the AirTouch N20 frame. The N30, N30i and P10 sound similar yet each takes its own cushion, which is why it pays to confirm your mask model before ordering.

Leaks from a folded edge

A leak from a brand new cushion is usually a folded edge rather than a fault. Sliding the mask down your face while fitting can curl the soft membrane, so lift it off, set it over your nose first and then pull the headgear on.

InfinitySeal cushion

Its looped membrane molds to the contours of your nose, holding a seal with the headgear kept comfortably loose.

Gentle silicone

Soft, light and hypoallergenic silicone that stays comfortable against your skin night after night.

Size printed on

The size letter is printed right on the cushion, so ordering the same fit again takes a quick glance.

One-way fit

The cushion pushes into the frame one way only, so it cannot go in upside down in a dark bedroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size should I order?

Order the letter printed on the bottom of your current cushion, S, M or L. First-time N20 wearers can size up with ResMed's printable template, which covers the standard and For Her masks together.

Does this fit the N20 For Her?

Yes. The standard and For Her masks share this exact cushion, and the For Her mask uses the Small. Choose the For Her option above and the Small is selected for you.

Can I switch to the memory foam cushion?

Yes. ResMed's AirTouch N20 foam cushion fits this frame as well, so a softer feel needs no new mask. Order the same size letter you use now.

What is the daily care routine?

Hand wash it each morning in warm water with a few drops of mild liquid soap, using a soft brush around the edges. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry somewhere shaded before reassembling.

When is it time for a new cushion?

ResMed's guideline is once a month, earlier if the silicone cracks or splits. Needing tighter straps every night to stop a leak is another clear sign.
