Overview

The AirFit X30i nasal pillows are the soft silicone pillows that seal at your nostrils on ResMed's X30i mask. They clip into the oral cushion below them, and together the two parts cover your nose and mouth without anything resting on your nose bridge.

They come in Small, Medium and Large, with the size printed on the front of the pillows. Order the size you wear now, and your oral cushion, frame and headgear carry on as before.

Key Features:

  • Pick your own fit: Three pillows sizes let you fine-tune the seal at your nostrils without changing anything else on the mask.
  • Freedom to move: Light pillows stay unobtrusive at your nostrils, so turning over at night does not tug the seal loose.
  • Light, open feel: A minimal design leaves your face feeling open and uncovered, the reason many pillows wearers never go back.
  • Latex free: The X30i user guide confirms these pillows, like the rest of the mask, contain no natural rubber latex.
  • Any frame size: Every pillows size works with every X30i frame size, so you can change one without touching the other.

They suit X30i wearers whose pillows have started to whistle, leak or feel tired, or who have reached their next scheduled swap. Ordering a new size here is also the easiest way to fine-tune the fit, since the oral cushion, frame and headgear all stay.

Note: The X30i frame and lower headgear clips contain magnets, so keep the mask clear of pacemakers and other implants.

How It Works

Fitting new pillows

Hold the pillows above the oral cushion with the pillows tab lined up with the slot in the oral cushion. Rotate them forward and press until you hear a click.

Check that the arrow on the pillows lines up with the arrow on the oral cushion. To take them off again, simply pull the pillows away from the oral cushion.

Getting the seal right

Settle the pillows gently at the edge of your nostrils, then let the oral cushion rest over your mouth without creases. The pillows seal on contact, so there is no need to push them in.

If air escapes at the nose, check the pillows are clicked in straight before you tighten anything. A size up or down is the fix when a careful refit still leaks.

Why twice a month

The X30i covers both nose and mouth with two separate parts, so ResMed gives each its own schedule. For the pillows, ResMed recommends a fresh pair up to twice a month.

Check them as they dry each morning. Stiffness, a split or a seal that keeps drifting all mean a fresh pair is due, whatever the date.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirFit X30i Nasal Pillows Cushion

Pillows plus mouth cover

The X30i pairs nasal pillows with a small cushion over your mouth, so mouth breathers get full coverage without a cushion across the bridge of the nose. These are the pillows half of that seal, and they work together with the oral cushion.

X30i only, and not alone

These pillows fit the AirFit X30i only. The P30i and N30i pillows are different parts that clip onto a frame, while these clip into the X30i oral cushion, so they cannot be worn on their own or on another mask.

Fresh pillows, better seal

Pillows sit right at your nostrils and are replaced more often than a larger cushion. When they soften, the seal can drift and start to whistle, and a fresh pair brings back the quiet, steady fit of the first night.

Nostril-edge seal

Soft pillows rest lightly at the edge of your nostrils and seal on contact, with no deep fit inside the nose.

Clicks into place

The pillows clip into the oral cushion with a firm click, and matching arrows confirm they are on straight.

Soft silicone

Light, hypoallergenic silicone feels gentle against the nose, even for side sleepers who turn all night.

Size printed on

The size is printed on the front of the pillows, so reordering the same fit again is quick and easy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these come with the oral cushion?

No. This box holds the nasal pillows only. The oral cushion is sold separately, and the two are replaced on their own schedules, so you only reorder the part you need.

How do I know which size to order?

Check the size printed on the front of your current pillows and order the same. There is no printable template for the X30i, so a new wearer finds the right size by trying them.

Does pillow size depend on frame size?

No. Any pillows size works with any X30i frame size. Change the pillows if the seal at your nostrils is off, and the frame if the fit around your head is wrong.

What does daily pillows care involve?

Each day, pull them off the oral cushion and let them sit a few minutes in warm, mildly soapy water. Brush gently, rinse under running water and let them air dry out of the sun.

How often should I replace them?

ResMed recommends new pillows up to twice a month, a shorter cycle than most cushions follow. Replace them sooner if they crack or tear.
