Putting the parts together
Start with the pillows tab seated in the slot of the oral cushion. Tip the pillows forward until they click home, and confirm the arrows on the two parts meet.
Fit the cushion assembly to your frame, then put the mask on with the pillows at your nostrils and the cushion resting over your mouth without any creases.
Caring for the vent
The vent is the one part of this cushion that needs a little extra attention. Brush gently around it during your daily wash so the openings stay clear.
Once rinsed, shake the cushion firmly so no water stays trapped in the vent, then leave it to dry in a shaded spot. A dry, open vent keeps the mask quiet.
Why twice a month
Because the nose and mouth seals are separate pieces, ResMed sets a replacement rhythm for each. For this oral cushion that means up to twice a month, more often than a typical full face cushion.

There is only one. The same oral cushion fits the Small, Standard and Large X30i frames, so you can order it without measuring anything.
What is the best daily care routine?
Let it sit in warm, soapy water, then work a soft brush gently around the vent openings. Rinse it and shake out the vent before leaving it to dry.
What causes a leak from a new cushion?
Usually it has creased against your face. Lift the mask away, smooth the silicone flat and reseat it over your mouth, leaving the straps alone until the fit is right.
How often does the oral cushion need replacing?
ResMed's schedule is up to twice a month, and earlier if the silicone splits or tears. Your frame and headgear go months between changes, so this cushion is the regular reorder.
