Overview

The AirTouch F20 cushion is the memory foam seal of ResMed's F20 full face mask, the part that sits against your face from nose to mouth all night. A fresh cushion brings back the plush, comfortable fit that made you choose the AirTouch in the first place.

Pick Small, Medium or Large to match the size printed on the cushion you have now. It presses onto your current F20 frame, leaving the headgear and elbow you use every night untouched.

Key Features:

  • Calm, diffused venting: Exhaled air spreads out evenly through the elbow vent instead of blowing in one stream, which keeps the airflow gentle.
  • Full face coverage: With nose and mouth sealed together, it suits people who breathe through their mouth while they sleep.
  • A monthly refresh: A new cushion each month, as ResMed recommends, keeps the seal dependable and the mask feeling the way it did when new.
  • Latex free: ResMed's F20 user guide lists natural rubber latex, PVC and phthalates among the materials it leaves out.
  • Genuine ResMed part: Made by ResMed to the same fit as the cushion that came with your AirTouch F20 mask.

It suits AirTouch F20 wearers ready for a fresh cushion, and AirFit F20 users who want a softer feel without buying a new mask. It is also a good fit for anyone who finds silicone uncomfortable and prefers a cushioned touch on the skin.

Note: Only F20 frames take this foam cushion. The AirTouch F30i also has a soft cushion, but it is a fabric part for a different frame, so check the name on your mask.

How It Works

Caring for memory foam

Foam is looked after the opposite way to silicone. It does not need cleaning every day, and when it does, wipe the outside with CPAP wipes or similar alcohol-free wipes and let it dry away from direct sunlight.

Never rinse it, soak it or use household cleaners or cleaning machines on it. Alcohol wipes are ruled out as well, so check the label on any wipe before it touches the foam.

Choosing foam over silicone

On the F20, the cushion is the whole difference between the AirTouch and the AirFit. Everything else on the mask is shared, so the choice comes down to how the seal feels and how you like to care for it.

Silicone is washed in water every day, while foam is only ever wiped. It helps to keep a spare foam cushion on hand, since one that gets soaked has to be replaced right away.

Changing the cushion

Hold the frame at its side and ease the old cushion off. Nothing needs unclipping, and you can leave the elbow and headgear in place throughout.

Press the new cushion onto the matching opening on the frame until it holds firmly. Run a finger around the edge to make sure it sits evenly before you put the mask on.

What's Included

Here's everything that comes in the box.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirTouch F20 Memory Foam Cushion

A softer feel on your face

Memory foam rests on your skin like a pillow rather than a sheet of silicone. If silicone has never felt quite right on your face, a foam cushion gives the same mask a gentler touch, with no change to the frame or headgear you know.

When the seal starts slipping

Foam wears with use, so a cushion that has started to leak may simply be near the end of its life. Turn the machine off, resettle the cushion and start again, and if the leak comes back, it is time for a fresh cushion.

Find your size at home

Memory foam comes in Small, Medium and Large, and the right size makes all the difference to comfort. ResMed's printable template checks the span from nose bridge to chin, so you can confirm your size at home before ordering.

UltraSoft memory foam

Memory foam gives the mask a cushioned feel that ResMed calls super soft and uniquely comfortable.

Gentle airflow

Diffused venting in the elbow spreads exhaled air evenly, so the airflow feels softer and calmer.

Push-on fit

Round openings on the cushion and frame press together, so a new cushion goes on in moments.

Wipe-clean care

No daily soaking needed, just a wipe with alcohol-free CPAP wipes whenever it needs freshening up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my AirFit F20 frame?

Yes. The two F20 masks share one frame and differ only in what touches your face, so foam swaps straight onto an AirFit F20. It does not fit the AirTouch F30i, which uses a fabric cushion on a different frame.

What if the foam cushion gets wet?

Replace it. ResMed says to throw the cushion away if it is ever submerged in liquid or heavily soiled, because water can damage the foam and weaken the seal.

How often should I replace the foam?

Every month, by ResMed's user guide, though its online store suggests every two weeks. Treat a month as the longest a cushion should last, and replace it sooner if the seal starts to fade.

Is there a For Her foam cushion?

There is no separate one. The AirTouch F20 For Her takes this same foam cushion, and since that mask comes in Small and Medium, those are the sizes to choose from.

Does foam change my therapy settings?

No. ResMed rates the foam and silicone F20 cushions the same in its specifications, so your settings stay exactly as they are. Only the feel against your face changes.
