Overview
ResMed's SlimLine is the lightweight tube built to disappear on the bed. Unlike a heated tube with wiring and contacts running through it, SlimLine is plain flexible plastic, so there is far less weight hanging off your mask through the night.
ResMed ships it in the box with a new AirSense 11 alongside the heated option. That is the clearest signal of how it is meant to be read: a complete setup, not the tube you get when something is missing.

SlimLine is ideal for patients who find the hose tugging at their mask, who sleep in a warm room, or who run little humidity. If you wake to water in the mask on cold nights, the heated ClimateLineAir solves that instead.
Note: This is the Air10 and Air11 SlimLine. Do not confuse it with a ClimateLine tube, which looks similar but carries gold contacts on its machine cuff. SlimLine has its own name molded into the plastic.
How It Works
What the 15 mm bore actually changes
ResMed builds this platform's tubes at two widths. SlimLine and the heated ClimateLineAir share a 15 mm channel, while the Standard tube and the Oxy run 19 mm. A narrower channel means less air volume sitting in the hose and a thinner, more flexible tube to drape.
The cost shows up only at the top of the pressure range, and it is small. Below about 12 cm H2O the three tubes measure within a few liters a minute of each other, and the gap only opens as pressure climbs.
How the newer platform closes the gap
On the AirSense 11, ResMed's own flow table shows the three tubes measuring much closer together than they do on the AirSense 10: roughly 150, 145 and 144 liters a minute for Standard, SlimLine and the heated ClimateLineAir 11 at 20 cm H2O.
The bore still matters, technically, but the newer machine's own tuning narrows what used to be a wider spread on the AirSense 10. Moving from an AirSense 10 to an 11 with the same SlimLine, expect it to feel closer to Standard than it did before.
Telling it apart from its siblings
Four tubes fit an AirSense 10 and they look alike coiled in a drawer. The reliable check is the machine-end cuff: a heated tube has gold electrical contacts on it, and a non-heated one has nothing but plastic.
ResMed also molds the name into the cuff itself in raised lettering. If yours reads ClimateLine there, it is the heated tube, and swapping it for this one means giving up the temperature control your machine is currently running.

Stays out of your way
This is the tube you stop noticing. Nothing electrical inside and 20 centimeters shorter than every other hose on the platform, so there is simply less of it draped across the bed to catch on things.
Stops the hose tugging your seal
A heavy hose pulls on the mask every time you roll over, and that steady drag is the usual reason a seal that was fine at midnight is leaking by three. A lighter tube pulls less.
No pressure ceiling to worry about
It is a fair worry that a narrower tube caps how high your machine can go, and here it does not. SlimLine is rated to the platform's full 30 cm H2O ceiling, the same number ResMed gives the heated tube.
Nothing to fail
No wiring or contacts inside means no heater to fail and no connector pins to corrode over its life.
Kinder seal
Less hose weight hanging off the mask means less pulling on it when you turn over.
No noise penalty
ResMed measures it at the same 25 decibels as the wider Standard tube on the same machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit an AirSense 11?
Yes. ResMed ships the AirSense 11 with either a ClimateLineAir 11 or a SlimLine, and lists SlimLine among its accessories. The same tube is listed for the AirSense 10, so it spans both generations.
What do I give up without heat?
Climate Control, which holds your air at a set temperature and steers around rainout on its own. If your room is warm and you run little humidity, that loop was doing very little for you anyway.
How should I clean it?
Wash it weekly in warm water with a mild dishwashing liquid, rinse it thoroughly and hang it to dry out of direct sunlight. Keep it out of the dishwasher and the washing machine.
How often does ResMed say to replace it?
Every six months, the same design life ResMed gives every tube on this platform. Replace it earlier if you find a split, a stiff patch, or a cuff that no longer holds the outlet firmly.
Is it more restrictive than a Standard tube?
Slightly, at the top of the range. ResMed measures 117 liters a minute through SlimLine at 20 cm H2O against 131 through Standard, though a heated tube sits lower still at 109.
