What Medicare covers for CPAP

A 12-week trial

Medicare Part B covers a 12-week trial of CPAP therapy, with the machine and accessories, once you are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.

Coverage after the trial

Medicare keeps paying when your doctor sees you between day 31 and day 91 and records that the therapy is helping you.

A 13-month rental

Medicare pays your supplier to rent the machine for 13 months of continuous use. After that, the machine is yours.

Your share of the cost

On Original Medicare the standard share is 20 percent of the Medicare-approved amount after the Part B deductible. What you pay depends on your plan, and Medicare Advantage plans set their own costs.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a Medicare CPAP supplier?

Yes. We supply CPAP machines, masks and supplies to Florida residents on Original Medicare, and we are taking new Medicare patients.

Do you take Medicare Advantage plans?

Some of them. The plans we bill are listed on our insurance billing page.

What paperwork does Medicare need for CPAP?

A prescription from your doctor and the records of the sleep study that diagnosed your obstructive sleep apnea. Our prescription help page covers how to send them.

What does Medicare mean by CPAP compliance?

Medicare looks for use of at least 4 hours a night on 70 percent of nights, over 30 days in a row, during your first three months. Your machine records this and your doctor reviews it.

Can I order Medicare CPAP supplies online?

Online checkout is cash pay, so Medicare orders go through our team by phone or in the store. Without insurance, you can still buy supplies online or rent a CPAP machine for $150 a month.
