Why three, not ResMed's own pack counts

ResMed's own eshop sells its genuine standard filter as a 2-pack or a 12-pack, never a 3-pack. NovoSleep, which makes the compatible filter in this bundle, chose three as its own pack size rather than matching ResMed's numbers.

There is no manufacturer reasoning behind the count beyond convenience. Three is enough spare filters to matter without buying a year's supply at once, which is the practical reason this bundle lands on that number.

Where each piece sits on the machine

The tube's powered cuff pushes into the outlet on the side of the machine, where gold contacts carry both the heating current and the sensor reading back from the mask end. The plain cuff at the other end takes any standard mask connector.

The filter sits at the opposite end of the air path, behind a cover on the back of the machine. Air is drawn in through it before it ever reaches the blower, which is why a blocked one makes the machine work harder for the same pressure.

Why the tube and filter have different fit lists

ResMed's own standard filter is also sold for the S9 platform, so the filter half of this bundle is not locked to the AirSense 10 the way the tube is. The tube's Air10 outlet is what actually limits which machines this bundle fits.

That means an S9 owner could use this same filter type, but not the heated tube, since the connector shapes differ between the two device generations. We list this bundle under the AirSense 10 because that is the platform the tube half is built for.
