Overview
The Solo from Fisher and Paykel is a nasal mask with no straps to thread, no clips to fasten and no velcro to adjust. Its AutoLock headgear stretches on over your head and sets its fit with a single touch rather than a row of buckles.
The cushion seals beneath your nostrils rather than across the bridge of your nose, so nothing presses on the spot where most patients get sore. AutoLock keeps that seal in place as your pressure changes and as you move, which means fewer adjustments at night.
Key Features:
- One Touch Fit: There are no straps, clips or magnets to set, so the headgear cannot be tightened too far.
- One Handed Fitting: Stretch the mask over your head, settle it under your nose, and let the headgear find its tension.
- Under Nose Cushion: The seal sits beneath your nostrils, so nothing rests on the nasal bridge where sores usually form.
- AutoLock Hold: AutoLock holds the mask in place as you move and as your therapy pressure changes overnight.
- Four Cushion Sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Wide, chosen by the width of your nose rather than your build.
- Interchangeable With Pillows: Every part in the Solo range fits the same frame, so cushions and pillows swap freely.
- Fit Pack Contents: The Fit Pack ships Small, Medium and Large cushions, so order the Wide size on its own.
The Solo suits patients who breathe through their nose and who have given up on masks that need adjusting every single night. It is a good first mask, and a good second one if straps and clips have defeated you before.
How It Works
What AutoFit actually replaces
Conventional headgear hands the patient a job clinicians train for: finding the tension that seals without marking. Most people overshoot, because a tighter strap makes a leak stop immediately while the cost of that tightness only shows up hours later.
Removing the guesswork removes the error. One touch sets the fit and AutoLock maintains it through the night, so there is no strap tension for a tired patient at midnight to get wrong.
Sealing under the nose
An under-nose design changes which tissue carries the seal. Contact moves off the nasal bridge, where skin sits directly over bone with almost nothing in between, and onto the softer area beneath the nostrils.
That is why clinicians reach for this shape when a patient turns up with broken skin over the bridge. It is also why the eyeline stays clear, since nothing crosses the field of view to hold the seal in place.
Sharing parts with Solo pillows
The Solo range is built on one frame. Cushions and pillows from any mask in the family attach to it, so moving between the two styles means changing the seal and nothing else.
Some patients use that seasonally. Nasal pillows suit a blocked nose or a hot night, an under-nose cushion suits higher pressures, and keeping both on hand means switching takes a few seconds at bedtime.
Sizing, and what the Fit Pack holds
Four cushion sizes are offered, and the one you need follows the width of your nose. Build and head size do not predict it, which is why the printable guide asks you to measure rather than estimate.
Read the Fit Pack carefully before ordering. It carries the three common sizes and not the Wide, so a patient who turns out to need Wide orders that cushion separately rather than finding it in the box.

Everything you need to know about the Fisher & Paykel Solo Nasal Mask
AutoLock holds the position
Once the mask is set, AutoLock keeps it sitting where you put it while you turn over during the night. You are not waking up to find the seal has crept sideways and needs pulling back into place.
Nothing across the bridge
The cushion seals beneath your nostrils, so no part of the mask rests on the bridge of your nose. Glasses sit normally and nothing blocks your eyeline if you read or watch something before turning the light off.
The cushion wears first
The cushion is the part that meets your skin every night, so it is the first thing to soften and the part you will reorder most. The frame and the headgear sit on a far longer cycle than that.

One touch fit
One touch adjusts the fit, so there are no straps or clips for you to set yourself.
Under nose cushion
The cushion seals beneath your nostrils, so nothing rests on the bridge of your nose at all.
AutoLock hold
AutoLock holds the mask in place while you move at night, and a single pull releases it.
Interchangeable cushions
Solo series cushions and nasal pillows fit the same frame, so you can swap between them freely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which cushion size should I order?
Solo cushions come in Small, Medium, Large and Wide, and the size follows the width of your nose rather than your build. The sizing guide linked below walks you through measuring.
What sizes are in the Fit Pack?
The Fit Pack includes Small, Medium and Large cushions. It does not include the Wide cushion, so order that size separately if the standard three do not seal for you.
Can I use nasal pillows instead?
Yes. Parts across the F&P Solo range are interchangeable, so Solo nasal pillows fit the same frame and headgear. You can switch between a cushion and pillows whenever you want.
Will it work with my machine?
Yes. The F&P Solo uses a standard CPAP hose connection and works with any CPAP or BiLevel machine, not only Fisher and Paykel models.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, CPAP masks are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
