Overview

The React Health Luna G3 Auto CPAP adjusts your pressure breath by breath through the night, and it can also run at one fixed pressure if that is what your prescription calls for. The heated humidifier is built into the machine rather than clipping on as a separate unit.

One knob does all the driving. Turning and pressing it beside the 3.5 inch color screen reaches every setting you are allowed to change, from ramp time to humidity level, and a home button underneath it steps you straight back out of anywhere you land.

Key Features:

  • Auto or fixed: AutoCPAP moves your pressure with your breathing, and fixed CPAP holds one setting, both across 4 to 20 cm H2O.
  • Easier exhale: Reslex lowers the pressure as you breathe out, at three strengths, or switches off entirely.
  • Gentle start: Auto Ramp begins low and climbs to your prescribed pressure over anything up to sixty minutes.
  • Humidity you set: The 360 mL chamber runs on Auto or on any of five levels, with a preheat before bed.
  • One filter slot: The Luna G3 takes a black reusable filter or a white disposable one, never both at the same time.
  • Data by camera: Ninety days of therapy data leave the machine as a QR code the free 3B Luna QR app reads.

The Luna G3 is ideal for patients who want auto-adjusting pressure, who sleep in a dry or cold bedroom, or who prefer a physical knob to a touchscreen. It suits anyone who would rather read their data off a phone camera than a paired account.

Note: Tubing is included as the plain six foot hose. The integrated heated tube, the SD card and the carry bag are separate purchases, and React Health does not build a battery pack or a DC cord for this machine.

How It Works

How the auto algorithm decides

SmartA is the part that does the deciding. It watches for respiratory events over a period and shifts three numbers in response, the minimum pressure, the smart pressure and the maximum, all inside the window your provider set. SmartC is its counterpart for a fixed prescription, moving the single treatment pressure over time rather than within the night.

The mask type setting feeds into that. You tell the machine on screen whether you are wearing a full face, a nasal or a pillow mask, and the algorithm accounts for the difference in how each style vents. Whatever it settles on, React Health holds the delivered figure to within half a centimeter of the target at a working pressure of 10.

The chamber, the transfer box, and where the moisture comes from

Air drawn in by the blower passes over the surface of the water on its way to the outlet, picking up vapor as it goes. React Health rates the output at no less than 15 mg of water per liter of air, and the level you pick on the knob decides how hard the heater plate beneath the tub works.

Between the blower and the chamber sits a small removable part React Health calls the transfer box. It is what routes air from the machine into the water, and it comes out separately from the chamber, which is why it has its own cleaning interval.

How the data gets out of the machine

The Luna G3 stores up to ninety calendar days internally, whether or not any wireless module is fitted. Ninety days does not fit in one QR code, so the machine presents up to three QR+ codes in sequence, each carrying roughly forty days, and the app flashes between them until it has read them all.

There are two other routes to the same figures. The device shows a set of iCode numbers a provider can enter directly, and it writes to an SD card if one is fitted. Cellular and Wi-Fi modules are optional and fitted at the point of supply, and React Health does not sell them separately afterwards.

Everything you need to know about the React Health Luna G3 Auto CPAP

Comfort settings you control

Three of the Luna G3's comfort features sit in the patient menu, behind the knob. You can change all three yourself without calling anyone.

  • Reslex drops the pressure as you breathe out, at three strengths or off
  • Auto Ramp starts low and climbs, set to Auto or anywhere from 0 to 60 minutes
  • Auto On starts therapy the moment you breathe into the mask
The screen and the knob

Everything on the Luna G3 is reached by turning and pressing one knob beside a 3.5 inch color screen. A home button below it steps you back out of any menu.

  • A bedside clock shows on the screen while the machine sits idle
  • The mask fitting test tells you on screen whether your mask is sealing
  • Consumables reminders count down your filter, tube and mask at 30, 60, 180 or 365 days
Power and travel

The Luna G3 runs on any mains supply from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz, so it needs no voltage switch in any country. React Health advises carrying it as hand luggage rather than checking it.

  • A plug adapter is all that changes when you travel abroad
  • React Health does not build a battery pack or a DC cord for the Luna G3

Two modes in one machine

The LG3600 runs AutoCPAP, adjusting your pressure breath by breath, and it also runs fixed CPAP at a single setting. Both cover the full 4 to 20 cm H2O range in half centimeter steps. Your provider sets which mode you are on, so the machine does not have to be replaced if your prescription changes.

Humidifier built into the machine

The heated humidifier is part of the device, not a separate box that clips on. Its 360 mL chamber slides out from the side, and the knob sets output to Auto or to any level from one to five. Preheat warms the water before you lie down, and a delay setting runs low airflow for about fifteen minutes after you stop, drying the chamber out.

One filter slot, two filter types

The Luna G3 has one filter slot and takes either type, never both at the same time. The black reusable filter washes, and React Health advises replacing it every six months. The white disposable filter is not washable, and React Health advises replacing it about every two weeks. We stock the reusable Luna G3 filter.

Your data without a modem

The Luna G3 keeps up to ninety days of therapy data inside the machine and puts it on screen as a QR code. The free 3B Luna QR app for iOS and Android reads that code with your phone camera. Nothing needs to pair, and no cellular or Wi-Fi module has to be fitted for it to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work with my current mask?

Yes. The Luna G3 uses the same standard hose fitting as every other home CPAP machine, so nasal, nasal pillow and full face masks from any brand will connect. React Health asks only that your mask have small holes that let your exhaled air escape, which nearly every CPAP mask does.

Can I change my own pressure settings?

No, and that is deliberate. Your pressure and your mode sit in a clinical menu your provider controls, and React Health states that therapy changes must go through your physician or supplier. The patient menu holds comfort settings only, like ramp and humidity.

How loud is the Luna G3?

React Health rates it under 28 dB at a working pressure of 10 cm H2O. Most of what you hear at night comes from the air moving through your mask vent rather than from the machine itself.

How big and heavy is it?

10.4 by 5.7 by 4.5 inches, and 3.75 pounds with the water chamber in place. It sits on a nightstand comfortably and takes up about the footprint of a hardback book laid flat.

Does it come with a heated tube?

No. React Health lists both the plain and the heated tubing as optional accessories on the LG3500 and LG3600, and your box ships with the six foot standard hose. The Luna G3 integrated heated tube is sold separately and plugs into its own port on the back.

How do I clean it?

React Health advises emptying and cleaning the water chamber daily, and cleaning the transfer box, the small removable piece behind the chamber, once a week. Do not use an ozone cleaner such as SoClean: React Health states that using one voids the device warranty.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes, CPAP machines are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
