Overview
The HumidAir 11 Standard tub is the water chamber that ships with most AirSense 11 machines, and the one most people replace. It slides into the side of the device, holds 380 mL to the maximum line, and needs no adapter or setting change.
ResMed makes two tubs for this machine and they are not the same part. This one is single-patient use, carries a white thumb grip, and takes distilled water only. The other one carries a grey grip instead and can be disinfected and reused between patients.

This is the tub to order if your AirSense 11 or AirCurve 11 came with the white grip and you simply need a fresh one. Choose the grey grip version instead if you would rather disinfect and reuse a chamber than replace it.
Note: This tub fits the Air11 platform only. An AirSense 10, AirCurve 10 or S9 takes an entirely different chamber, and neither one will seat in the other machine.
How It Works
Why there are two tubs at all
The split is about reprocessing, not convenience. ResMed classes the white grip tub as single patient use, meaning it is not designed to be disinfected and returned to service, while the grey grip tub is validated for exactly that and is what a clinic or a sleep lab buys.
For one person at home the practical consequence is narrower than the labels suggest. Both hold the same 380 mL, both seat in the same tray, and both deliver the same humidity. The difference shows up in what you put in them and how long they last.
Distilled water and what scale does
Tap water carries dissolved minerals. When the water evaporates over a night of therapy the minerals stay behind, and over months they build into a film on the base of the chamber and around the seal.
A tub that can be disinfected can also be descaled and put back into use. This one cannot, so ResMed removes the problem at the source by calling for distilled water, which has nothing in it to leave behind.

Standard or reusable tub
ResMed builds two tubs for the AirSense 11 and this is the single-patient one. It takes distilled water only and cannot be reprocessed, where the other tub takes drinking quality water and can be disinfected and reused.
Not the Air10 water tub
An AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10 takes a completely different tub, and the two do not interchange in either direction. ResMed states that the HumidAir 11 Standard and Cleanable tubs are the only tubs used with an AirSense 11.
Daily emptying, weekly wash
Empty it each morning and wipe it dry with a clean disposable cloth, out of direct sunlight. Once a week wash it through with warm water and a mild detergent, or with one part vinegar to nine parts water.
White thumb grip
The grip on the lid is white on this tub and grey on the reusable one, so they are easy to tell apart.
Full night capacity
Fills to 380 mL at the maximum line, which ResMed rates at more than eight hours between refills.

Will this fit my AirCurve 11?
Yes. The AirSense 11 and the AirCurve 11 share one humidifier bay, so this tub drops into either without an adapter. It will not fit an AirSense 10, an AirCurve 10 or an S9, which use a different chamber.
Which tub do I currently have?
Look at the thumb grip on the lid. The standard tub has a white grip and the reusable tub has a grey one, which is the quickest way to tell them apart without unpacking anything.
What is the weekly cleaning routine?
ResMed's weekly instruction for this tub is warm water with a mild detergent, or a solution of one part vinegar to nine parts water. Nothing it is washed in should go above 131 degrees Fahrenheit.
When should I replace this tub?
ResMed publishes no fixed interval for the standard tub, so we do not print one. It is single-patient use and cannot be disinfected, so replace it if it is ever contaminated, or once the plastic clouds.
Why does it need distilled water?
ResMed prints Distilled Water Only on this tub and calls for it in the AirSense 11 guide. Distilled water leaves no mineral scale behind, and this tub cannot be disinfected to remove buildup later.
