ResMed ClimateLineAir Heated Tube for AirSense 10

This is the heated hose for your AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10. It runs from the machine to your mask, and a heating wire along its length keeps the air warm the whole way.

Plug it in and the machine knows. The AirSense 10 shows a short message on screen, then handles the heat on its own. That is the whole job, and it is the one a plain hose cannot do.

Key Features:

• If rainout happens: ResMed says to raise the tube temperature first, and only lower the humidity if the air then feels too warm.
• Heat ceiling: The air inside the tube is capped at 106 degrees Fahrenheit, whatever number you put on the screen.
• Travel and altitude: Rated to 8,500 feet and to rooms between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, so a trip does not change anything.
• Manual mode: If you would rather set it yourself, Manual mode opens the tube temperature from 60 to 86 degrees and humidity across eight levels.
• Length and bore: The tube runs 2 m long with a 15 mm bore, and the powered cuff for the machine end is already attached.
• The flow trade-off: ResMed publishes a flow table showing the heated tube moving less air than the Standard hose at every pressure.

The ClimateLineAir is ideal for patients who wake up to water in the mask, whose bedroom runs cold, or who keep the humidity turned up. It is especially useful in winter, when the gap between room temperature and the air you breathe is widest.

Note: Check your machine before ordering. This tube fits the Air10 range and Lumis only. An AirSense 11 or AirCurve 11 uses a differently shaped outlet and needs its own ClimateLineAir.

Why water forms in the hose

A humidifier adds moisture at the machine, and that air then travels the length of the hose to your face. In a cool bedroom it loses heat along the way, and once it drops below its dew point the water it was carrying condenses on the inside wall.

Placement matters as much as temperature here. ResMed asks you to keep the device on a level surface lower than your head, because a hose running downhill into the mask lets any water that does form drain straight onto your face instead of back toward the tub.

What the machine is correcting for

Climate Control is not a fixed heater setting. The algorithm adjusts continuously against three separate inputs: the temperature and humidity of the room you are in, the flow changes that come with a pressure change, and the flow lost to a leak at the mask or the mouth.

That is why the number on the screen is a target rather than a measurement. The machine steers toward it as conditions move, so the figure you set describes the outcome it is working for, not what a thermometer in the hose would read at that moment.

If it comes loose overnight

A heated tube that works its way off the outlet does not fail quietly. The AirSense 10 puts a message on screen, reading either that a high leak was detected and you should connect your tubing, or that the tubing is blocked and you should check it.

Therapy does not simply resume once you push the cuff back on. You clear the message with the dial and press Start to begin again, which is deliberate: it means a tube that came off at 3am shows up as something you had to acknowledge rather than as a night of therapy you silently did not get.
