Overview
The ResMed AirTouch N20 is a nasal CPAP mask built around ResMed's UltraSoft memory foam cushion, which covers the nose without pressing into it. Unlike traditional silicone cushions, memory foam yields to your facial contours and holds a gentle seal even at higher pressures.
The frame is minimal and flexible, with padding built into it rather than added on top. It flexes to the shape of your face with very little skin contact, keeping your line of sight open and reducing the pinching a rigid frame can leave.
Key Features:
- UltraSoft Memory Foam Cushion: Molds to your face under therapy pressure, so the seal forms without you cranking the headgear down.
- Padded Flexible Frame: Carries its own padding and bends to your facial shape, so it sits close without pinching.
- Magnetic Headgear Clips: The lower straps find the frame on their own, so putting the mask on takes one hand.
- Integrated Flexi-Tube: A short flexible tube runs off the frame and absorbs hose movement before it can pull your seal loose.
- Quick-Release Elbow: Squeeze tabs detach the hose with one hand, and the elbow rotates a full turn on its own swivel.
- Diffused Venting: Exhaled air spreads gently away from you and your bed partner, not in one stream.
- Plush Headgear: Rolled-edge fabric straps are designed to be worn loosely so the memory foam can do the sealing.
The AirTouch N20 is ideal for patients who breathe through their nose, have sensitive skin, or find silicone cushions too firm. It is especially beneficial for anyone who has developed sore spots from a mask that had to be tightened to seal.
How It Works
How the memory foam cushion seals
UltraSoft memory foam behaves differently from silicone. A silicone cushion seals by being pressed against the face, so a leak is usually answered with more strap tension.
Memory foam compresses and conforms instead, spreading contact pressure over a wider area. That is why it can hold a seal at higher therapy pressures without being tightened down, and why it tends to suit sensitive skin.
Why the frame carries its own padding
The N20 frame is built to flex rather than hold a fixed shape, with padding integrated into the frame itself rather than layered on afterwards.
It contacts a small area of skin and follows the contours of your face, so the mask sits close without concentrating pressure at the points where a rigid frame would dig in. Your line of sight stays open, which makes reading or watching television with the mask on practical.
Venting and the Flexi-Tube
Venting is built into the elbow and diffused across a wide area, so exhaled air leaves as a gentle spread rather than a directed stream. The elbow releases with squeeze tabs and rotates a full turn on an independent swivel.
The integrated Flexi-Tube extends off the frame and stretches as you move, taking up hose movement at the mask rather than passing it into the cushion seal.
Sizing and headgear options
Cushions come in Small, Medium, and Large. ResMed publishes a printable fitting template: print it at 100% scale and use it to confirm your size before ordering.
Every AirTouch N20 ships with Standard headgear. Small and Large headgear are sold separately if the standard size cannot be adjusted to a comfortable fit.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirTouch N20 Nasal Mask
Warm instead of slick
Foam does not turn cold and slippery as facial oil builds through the night, which is the complaint most people have about silicone by morning. It stays dry against the skin and does not leave the shine a silicone edge does.
A thirty day cushion
ResMed rates the foam cushion at about thirty days, against a month or more for silicone, so plan on reordering it more often. The frame and headgear are on a far slower cycle and are not part of that rhythm.
Silicone stays an option
This frame also takes the AirFit N20 silicone cushion, so choosing foam is not a decision you are stuck with. If foam turns out to wear too fast for you, swap the cushion and keep everything else you bought.

UltraSoft memory foam
The foam molds to your face instead of pressing back against it, so the seal holds without you cranking the straps down.
Padded flexible frame
The frame flexes to your face and carries its own padding, so it sits without pinching while you read or watch TV.
Magnetic headgear clips
The lower straps find the frame on their own with a twist, so putting the mask on at 3am takes one hand.
Diffused vent elbow
Vents built into the elbow push your exhaled air away in a soft spread rather than a stream at your partner.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which cushion size I need?
The AirTouch N20 comes in Small, Medium and Large, and the size is set by the width and height of your nose, not the size of your head. Most people are not the size they expect. If you are unsure, call us and we will walk you through it.
Is the headgear included in my size?
Every AirTouch N20 ships with Standard headgear, which fits most people. ResMed also makes Small and Large headgear, sold separately, if the standard straps sit too loose or too tight. Call us and we will help you work out which one you need.
Can I wash the memory foam cushion?
Hand-wash it and let it air-dry fully. Never submerge or soak the foam, and keep it away from dishwashers and liquid sanitizers. Getting this wrong is the fastest way to ruin the cushion.
Will it work with my machine?
Yes. The AirTouch N20 uses a standard CPAP hose connection and works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, not just ResMed.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, CPAP masks are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
