Overview
The ResMed AirFit X30i is an oral nasal mask that pairs soft nasal pillows with a separate silicone cushion over your mouth. ResMed designed it to give the coverage of a full face mask together with the extra stability that a pillows seal brings.
Its SpringFit frame is flexible and hollow, so the frame itself carries your air from the elbow at your crown down to both cushions. Because the air path runs through the frame, nothing extra hangs in front of your face while you are asleep.
Key Features:
- Hose out of the way: Tubing joins the frame up at your crown, so the hose leads away behind you and stays clear of the bedding in front.
- Gentle venting: QuietAir diffused vents spread each exhaled breath, which helps keep a steady draft off you and your partner.
- Room to change later: Frame and headgear are shared with the AirFit F30i, so switching to that under-nose cushion keeps the parts you already own.
- Soft materials: Both cushions are silicone, which ResMed describes as hypoallergenic, soft and light enough to rest easily on your skin.
- Easy to fit: In a ResMed study of 28 people using their own AirSense 10 for seven nights, 96 percent found it easy to fit and adjust.
The AirFit X30i is ideal for patients who breathe through their mouth, find nasal pillows comfortable, or move between positions at night. It is especially useful for anyone who sleeps on their side or front and wants the hose kept up off the pillow.
How It Works
Finding a leak
With two cushions there are two places a leak can start, and ResMed checks them separately. At the nose, reseat the pillows so each one sits squarely at the edge of a nostril.
At the mouth, look for a crease in the oral cushion and smooth it out. If the pillows still feel loose, try the next size, since all three sizes are already in the box.
How often ResMed replaces each part
ResMed puts the three parts on different schedules. The pillows and oral cushion can be replaced as often as twice a month, since they are the parts that form the seal.
The frame follows every three months and the headgear every six. Buying them separately means a worn cushion never forces a new frame.
Safety valve and pressure range
An anti-asphyxia valve sits in each side connector of the frame. If the flow from your machine stops, it lets in outside air at below 4 cmH2O.
ResMed rates the AirFit X30i for therapy pressures between 4 and 30 cmH2O in its user guide.

Everything you need to know about the ResMed AirFit X30i Oral Nasal Mask
Pillows plus an oral cushion
Two separate cushions do the sealing. The nasal pillows rest at the edge of your nostrils and seal on contact, while the oral cushion covers your mouth, so you get full face coverage without a cushion across the bridge of your nose.
Two release points
The elbow unclips from the frame when you squeeze its side buttons, so the hose comes off while the mask stays on. The lower straps hold with magnets, and a twist pulls them free when you want the whole mask off.
Choosing a frame size
The size you pick is the frame, and ResMed sizes it by how it sits. If the mask slips back over your head or crowds your ears, go smaller. If it tips forward or sits close to your eyes, go up a size.

Tube-up design
The hose attaches high on your head at the crown, so it stays clear of your chest and view when you roll over.
QuietAir venting
Diffused vents send your exhaled breath out softly, so the person next to you feels less of a breeze through the night.
Soft silicone cushions
ResMed makes both cushions from silicone for being soft, light and hypoallergenic, so they rest gently where they touch.
Shares F30i parts
The frame and headgear are the same system as the AirFit F30i, so moving to its cushion later needs no new straps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which pillow sizes come in the box?
All three. Every pack includes Small, Medium and Large nasal pillows plus one oral cushion, which ResMed makes in a single size, so the only choice you make above is the frame.
Is the AirFit X30i a full face mask?
It does the job of one, covering both your nose and mouth, but ResMed calls it an oral nasal mask because pillows seal your nose instead of a cushion. On a ResMed machine, the Full Face mask type is still the one to pick.
How do I clean the AirFit X30i?
ResMed advises hand-washing the pillows and oral cushion after each use and the frame, headgear and elbow once a week, using warm water and a mild liquid detergent. After rinsing, shake the oral cushion to clear water from its vent, then let the parts dry in the air away from direct sun.
Will it work with my machine?
Yes. The AirFit X30i uses a standard CPAP hose connection and works with most CPAP and BiPAP machines, not just ResMed. It will not connect to an AirMini.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, CPAP masks are prescription devices. You can still complete checkout without one: we hold the order rather than cancel it, and ship as soon as we can verify your prescription.
